San Diego have once again made a reliable start to the season, winning three of their opening four. However, they are unlikely to have things all their own way against a team with a strong record on Sunday.

San Diego FC will once again be one of the leading playoff contenders in the Western Conference, and they have made a reliable start to the regular season after winning three of their opening four.
However, cracks have begun to show in their last two fixtures after they allowed seven goals in clashes with FC Dallas and Toluca. A midweek 4-0 loss on the road to Liga MX club Toluca in the CONCACAF Champions Cup would have damaged their confidence.
But, their reliability in home matches should be respected, having won 100% of their clashes, scoring an average of 3.5 goals per game, and allowing a low xGA of 0.69 per fixture.

Pablo Mastroeni's Real Salt Lake could be a dark horse contender in the race for a playoff spot in the Western Conference this season. They have started the campaign in excellent form, winning three on the bounce since an opening night loss in Vancouver.
Last weekend, they showed their attacking quality, dominating the ball in the 2-1 success against Austin.
They will likely need to improve defensively on the road as the season progresses after allowing a high xGA average of 1.6 per game. But, in Diego Luna, they have one of the most creative players in the MLS.

Real Salt Lake have had a week to prepare for this clash, while San Diego were in midweek action in Mexico. That preparation time could be crucial, meaning that a shock win for the visitors is preferred at the odds available.
