The Canes are enjoying a red-hot campaign, as they sit top of the Metropolitan Division after winning their last two. Meanwhile, the Penguins suffered a defeat in their previous game.
The Pittsburgh Penguins remain in a prominent position to challenge for a playoff spot this season.
They currently sit second in the Metropolitan Division, but they have won ten fewer games than the Canes at the top of the division.

Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis both ended the win over the Leafs on Friday with two assists, improving the Canes' record on the road to 18-10-4.
