The pressure intensifies in the race for the playoffs in the NHL on March 19, as the Tampa Bay Lightning chase a return to form when they travel to the Vancouver Canucks.
The Lightning have suffered defeats in seven of their last ten, but they will be heavily favored against a Canucks side that sits bottom of the Pacific Division.
It has been a season to forget for the Vancouver Canucks, as they languish at the bottom of the Pacific Division. Vancouver have gone 21-38-8 overall this season, and they have registered just three wins in their last ten.
However, there were positive signs last time out, as the Canucks powered to a 5-2 home win over the Florida Panthers. Brock Boeser ended the night with three assists, while Elias Pettersson scored twice.
However, that was a rare moment of celebration at Rogers Arena, as it was just the eighth home win recorded in 2025-26.
The Tampa Bay Lightning got their form back on track last time out after recording a comfortable 6-2 win over the Seattle Kraken.
Nikita Kucherov scored three times in the success, and also added two assists for good measure. It was a much-needed win for the Lightning, who had previously lost seven of their last nine.
Despite that drop off in form, Tampa remain second in the Atlantic Division, having won the second-most games in the Eastern Conference so far this season.
