The final weekend of MLS action before the international break is set, as the Columbus Crew bid to record a first victory of the 2026 season when they travel to Toronto.
The hosts have won once in their opening four fixtures, scoring an impressive five goals. However, it has been a damning start for the Crew, losing half of their four matches.

It had been a slow start to the season for Toronto FC, but they have shown excellent character to get back on track after taking four points from their last two fixtures.
The Canadian side were unfortunate not to land a win in their latest fixture, as they conceded late to tie against the NY Red Bulls. Toronto’s counter-attacking style of play caused huge problems for the Red Bulls, registering five shots on target.
However, converting chances has already looked like a minor issue for Toronto in 2026, scoring an average of just 1.00 goals per game from an xG of 1.19.

It has been a below par start to the season for the Columbus Crew, as they are yet to win in their four fixtures in 2026. That leaves the team sitting 14th in the Eastern Conference standings, and their attacking woes have been hard to dismiss.
The Crew have failed to score in their last two matches. Most recently, they lost 1-0 at home to Nashville. In that fixture, the Crew dominated the ball, but they could only register two shots on target.
However, their efficiency on the road should be respected, scoring 2.00 goals per game from an average xG of 1.64.

Both of these teams have struggled to score goals so far this season. Therefore, the fact that eight of the 24 head-to-head encounters at BMO Field between the sides have ended in draws could be an interesting angle.
