Championship high-flyers Wrexham will be aiming to continue their excellent form when they clash with Premier League giants Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup on March 7.
The Welsh club, owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have enjoyed a meteoric rise from the National League, but a place in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup hangs in the balance against the Blues this Saturday.

Wrexham’s rise through the divisions deserves huge respect, but Phil Parkinson could yet achieve the unlikely target of taking the Welsh club to the Premier League in 2025-26.
The team have been in excellent recent form, winning each of their last three. They have already upset the odds once in the FA Cup this term, eliminating Premier League Nottingham Forest in the third round.
However, their weak defensive record would be a slight concern, as the Welsh club have allowed six goals in their last four.

Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea will be heavy favorites this weekend, as they bid to avoid an unlikely exit against second tier opposition.
The Blues have already swept past Championship rivals in the last two rounds, smashing four past Hull City in the previous round. A big positive would have been their return to form in midweek, easily overcoming Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Joao Pedro was in inspired form in the win, netting an excellent hat-trick. However, Rosenior is likely to make a number of first-team changes this weekend ahead of a crucial Champions League trip to PSG in midweek.

Chelsea’s excellent record against lower league opposition is a major plus in their favor this weekend. Therefore, despite Wrexham’s solid recent form, their defensive record could hold them back against Premier League opposition.
