The pressure will increase on Yoann Darnet this weekend, as his St. Louis side are still chasing their first win of the season.
Last term, the franchise missed out on the playoff spots, but expectations are high in Darnet’s first full season as head coach. An opening night draw with Charlotte was a positive opener, but they were overpowered last weekend when losing 2-0 on the road against San Diego FC.
A lack of offensive threat was evident in that defeat, with City failing to record a single shot on target. Creating chances has also been an issue, reflected by a low xG of 1.65.

The Seattle Sounders remain among the red-hot favorites to achieve a playoff spot in 2026. However, an immediate recent to form is expected ahead of a crucial week of matches.
The Sounders landed a comfortable opening night with over Colorado, but they failed to build on that promise last time out after losing 2-1 against Real Salt Lake. Despite dominating the ball, the Sounders were guilty of being wasteful in the final third of the field, scoring just once from nine shots on target.
However, it is worth noting that the Sounders at least created a high volume of chances, and if they were more relaxed in the final third, then they would have won easily.

St. Louis have been disappointing at the start of the season, and they are likely to be vulnerable against a creative rival on Saturday. Therefore, we fully expect the Sounders to bounce back from a recent defeat.
