The big match in the Premier League this weekend comes from the Emirates Stadium, as Arsenal bid to overcome one of their biggest challenges in the form of Chelsea to retain their advantage at the summit.
Mikel Arteta’s side would have taken huge confidence from their dominant win over Tottenham last Sunday, but they could kick off this weekend sitting just two points clear of Man City.
Chelsea have dropped points in their last two fixtures, and their Champions League challenge appears to be faltering.

Arsenal have looked nervous in recent weeks, but they showed excellent character last weekend by powering to a 4-1 away win against Tottenham.
Being back at the Emirates is a major plus, with the Gunners having won 77% of their fixtures in North London this term. Arsenal’s record in derby matches should also be respected, losing just once in their last 25 against clubs from London.
However, a sign of their nervousness can be found in the fact that only Tottenham has made more errors leading to goals than the Gunners in 2026.

Liam Rosenior cut a frustrated figure last weekend, as defensive errors cost Chelsea a win for the second league game running.
That is becoming a costly factor, with only West Ham having dropped more points than the Blues from winning positions in 2025-26. This weekend, they could surrender points after going 1-0 up in three straight games for the first time since 2016.
However, the Blues have been effective on their travels under Rosenior, winning their last two. But, Chelsea’s overall away record against teams at the top of the standings is extremely poor, losing eight of their last nine.

Chelsea have been weak defensively in their last two EPL matches, making a home win this weekend hard to oppose. It is also worth noting that the Gunners have won their last three at the Emirates against the Blues, and Chelsea are winless in their last eight against the Gunners.
