Leading 81-77 with 18.7 seconds left, Allisha Gray hit three free throws to trim Dallas' lead to one. And on the ensuing possession, Allisha Gray hit a tough contested jumper, giving Atlanta its first lead in the second half. The Wings still had a chance to win the game, but Awak Kuier missed a 3-pointer, and Jessica Shepard's putback attempt was off the mark when the final buzzer sounded.
Arike Ogunbowale produced a 24-point outing, adding six rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Azzi Fudd was close behind with 20 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the field. Unfortunately, the solid scoring efforts were not enough to withstand Atlanta's furious rally down the stretch.
The Mystics have won three straight following a two-game losing streak. Their latest outing was a 92-84 victory over the Connecticut Sun.
Washington trailed by seven points after the opening stanza. But a 53-31 burst across the middle two frames flipped the game and allowed the Mystics to seize control before holding on for the win.
Sonia Citron led four double-digit scorers with 22 points, four assists and three rebounds. Kiki Iriafen posted a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds, giving Washington a dominant interior presence.
