  • The Wings have won 8 of their last 11 games, rising to 19-11 after a 83-63 win over the Suns.
  • Washington has won four games in a row, rising into the postseason picture now at 16-12.
  • These two teams last met a few days ago on July 31, in a game that the Mystics won 81-75.

The Wings and Mystics clash on Wednesday for the second WNBA game this week. Both teams have very young rosters but have been exceeding expectations. The Mystics will seek a second win here.

Wings Seeking Revenge Win on Road

The Wings continue to look like title contenders as their roster meshes even further. 2025 first-overall pick Paige Bueckers continues to play at a 1st-team all-WNBA level, while 2026 top pick Azzi Fudd has improved considerably as the season progressed. Meanwhile, veteran Arike Ogunbowale finally broke out last week, joining Jessica Shepard as one of the league's top producers as of late. Dallas could be a top team to watch.

Mystics Seek to Continue Rising

Washington rose into the playoff picture after going 10-5 in their last 15 games. Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen continue to lead the way, playing at all-star levels in their second season. Meanwhile, Shakira Austin has been on an absolute heater, taking the pressure off of the younger starters. In their most recent 15-game stretch, Austin has averaged 16 points per game and 10 rebounds per game while also being lock-down on defense.

Wings vs Mystics WNBA Pick

After getting the best of the Wings in Dallas a few days ago, conventional wisdom would project Washington to also win the rematch back on their home court. That being said, it's rarely so easy and predictable in professional sports. Expect Dallas to have taken the last several days to watch tape on the Mystics and practice their counterattack. Win streaks rarely last, and I see the Wings ending Washington's on Wednesday.
