After a 10-11 start, Los Angeles dropped six straight. Thankfully, they got a much-needed 106-101 victory against the Portland Fire on Sunday.

The Sparks were down by six at the break. But a 63-52 burst in the second half allowed the road team to prevail.
Los Angeles' balanced scoring attack featured six double-digit scorers. Dearica Hamby powered the offense with an impactful 23-point, 10-rebound effort, adding four assists. Nneka Ogwumike added 22 points and 10 rebounds, fueling an efficient unit that shot 52 percent overall and 55 percent from 3-point range.
Meanwhile, the Sky have won two of their last three games. Unfortunately, their 106-101 loss to the Phoenix Mercury snapped a two-game win streak.
Chicago led 101-100 before Kelsey Plum buried a three-pointer to give the Mercury a 103-101 advantage. With 11 seconds remaining, the Sky had a chance to tie the game, but DeWanna Bonner blocked Courtney Vandersloot's layup and hit two free throws, sealing the win for Phoenix.
Five players reached double figures for the Sky. Kamilla Cardoso, Vandersloot, and DiJonai Carrington scored 16 points each, providing Chicago with multiple contributors, albeit in a losing effort.
