The Aces and Fire meet for the second time this season in Portland. The Fire lost their first matchup badly but will look to pull off an upset win amidst the momentum of beating their rivals once again.

The Aces took one of their worst defeats of the season against the Fever. They made immediate changes to the roster, releasing early-season star Chennedy Carter and signing Justine Pissott. The defending champions have struggled to get consistency from their guard play and need Jewell Lloyd to begin providing a larger impact with Carter gone. They'll look to get back on track in this one.
Portland got back on track with a road victory over their rivals, the Seattle Storm. It was their second rivalry win of the season and improved their overall record to 9-12. The Fire are still clinging to hope that they can sneak into the playoff field, currently sitting 10th of 15 teams in the standings. Whether they end up in the postseason or the draft lottery, the Fire can already consider this season a success.
Las Vegas dominated Portland the last time these two teams meet, as the Fire were unable to stop A'ja Wilson. There's a large talent gap between the two teams and as scrappy as the Fire have been in pulling off upsets, they have heavily struggled against the very best teams like Minnesota and Las Vegas. Lock in the Aces to win this one on the road by double digits, in similar fashion to their last meeting.
