One of the games on Tuesday’s WNBA slate features the Minnesota Lynx hosting the Chicago Sky. Can Minnesota defeat Chicago for the second time within a week in our Lynx vs Sky pick?

Minnesota Aiming For Fourth Win In Five Games

Following an 87-81 setback against the Sky on Jul. 12, the Lynx have posted wins in their last two outings, including a 79-66 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Jul. 16.

After seeing Phoenix cut an early double-digit lead to four points at the break, Minnesota converted a 3-pointer on three consecutive possessions in the third quarter as it outscored Phoenix 27-16 for a 64-49 advantage entering the fourth quarter.

Kayla McBride scored a team-high 18 points, grabbed five rebounds, and handed out five assists. Courtney Williams finished with 12 points, seven boards, and five dimes. Minnesota’s top-ranked defense held the Mercury to 35.7 percent shooting from the field. This marked the 11th time this season in which the Lynx held an opponent to under 40 percent shooting.

Sky Look To Halt Two-Game Losing Streak

Chicago enters this contest amid a two-game losing streak. This includes an embarrassing 86-49 defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Dream on Jul. 16.

Chicago fell behind 23-10 after the first quarter and was unable to recover from the early onslaught. Whatever hopes the Sky had about being competitive were extinguished when Atlanta outscored them by a decisive 33-13 margin in the third quarter.

Rebecca Allen led the team with nine points off the bench. Elizabeth Williams and Kamilla Cardoso finished with eight points each. Chicago shot 35 percent from beyond the arc and just 25.4 percent overall (18-for-71).

Lynx vs Sky WNBA Pick

Minnesota continues to lead the league in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Meanwhile, Chicago is ranked 12th in scoring (78.0 PPG) and 10th in points allowed per outing (86.3).

The Lynx have taken two of three meetings this season and have won four of the previous five matchups between the franchises. Considering Minnesota is the league’s top team and Chicago struggles at both ends of the floor, look for the home team to win this one convincingly.
