One of the games on Tuesday’s WNBA slate features the Indiana Fever hosting the Connecticut Sun. Will Indiana get over the .500 mark in our Fever vs Sun pick?
Indiana Aims To Build On An Impressive Win Against The Defending Champs
Following a three-game slide, the Fever have posted three wins in their last four outings, including a 102-88 win against the New York Liberty on Saturday.
Caitlin Clark, who missed five games with a quad injury, returned to the rotation in grand fashion. She scored 32 points, handed out nine assists, and grabbed eight rebounds.
Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull added 22 and 14 points, respectively. Following a 9-0 run, New York held a 59-53 lead early in the third quarter before Indiana responded with a 19-0 blitz to take an 80-71 advantage into the fourth quarter.
A pair of free throws from Ionescu drew New York within 85-82. However, Indiana seized control for good with a 14-2 run, securing the victory for the home team. Indy’s defense held the Liberty to 42.3 percent shooting overall and 20.7 percent from 3-point range.
The Sun Hope To Snap Their Two-Game Losing Streak
One of the few highlights for the Sun this season occurred when they defeated the Atlanta Dream 84-76 on Jun. 6. Since that triumph, Atlanta has dropped their last two contests, including a 78-66 loss to the struggling Chicago Sky.
Maria Mabrey spearheaded the Sun’s offense with a team-high 22 points, five rebounds, and she shot 5-for-12 from beyond the arc. Tina Charles chipped in with 19 points and six rebounds.
Connecticut trailed 59-54 through three quarters. And the game was put out of reach, as Chicago outscored the home team by a 19-12 margin in the game’s final 10 minutes.
Fever vs Sun WNBA Pick
Indiana is ranked fourth in offensive rating and third in defensive efficiency. Meanwhile, the Sun are last in scoring and have the second-worst scoring defense in the association, giving up 88.2 points per outing.
Connecticut has won four of the previous five matchups, but given the team’s struggles this season, Indiana should come out on top in this one.
