The end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup means only one thing, the attention quickly turns back to club action in August.
Arsenal will be the defending Premier League champions going into the 2026-27 season, but the Gunners will expect to face challenges on all fronts with Man United, Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea all under new management.
Coventry City, Hull City, and Ipswich were all promoted from the Championship last term, but all will face a fight to remain a top-flight club. You can find the odds and our Premier League outright picks for 2026-27 here.

Premier League Picks: Who Will Win the EPL in 2026-27?
Arsenal’s set piece prowess ultimately got them over the line in 2025-26, but the Gunners could be considered slightly fortunate that they rarely had injury issues. Their lack of efficiency from open play would be a concern, as they are unlikely to record another record-breaking season in terms of goals from corners.
Man City bid farewell to Pep Guardiola at the end of last season, with the legendary coach replaced by Enzo Maresca. Big money has already been spent on England star Elliott Anderson, and they are always hard to overlook with Erling Haaland guaranteed to score at least 20 goals. However, there could be teething problems under their new coach after Guardiola’s long tenure with the club.
Andoni Iraola will make Liverpool more attack-minded than they were under Arne Slot, while Xabi Alonso is an eye-catching appointment at Chelsea, and the Blues could be dangerous without having the stress of playing European soccer this term.
However, no club won more points than Man United following Michael Carrick’s interim appointment in mid-January. United lost just twice in 17 league matches in the second half of last season, and there has been a clear approach in the summer window to this point with the signings of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.
There is a sense that the club is building something, and in an unpredictable title race, they could have the consistency to lay down a serious challenge for the EPL in 2026-27. Along with United, we expect Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man City to make up the top four.

Premier League Picks: Who Will Be Relegated from the EPL in 2026-27?
We were correct with two of our three EPL picks for relegation last season, as we liked the chances of Wolves and West Ham to go down. Only one of the three promoted teams last term dropped back into the Championship, but there appears to be a gulf in terms of quality between the three that came up last season and the remainder of the Premier League.
Hull look like the weakest of the three, with their promotion achieved following a playoff final win against Middlesbrough. However, there is a distinct lack of EPL quality in their squad, and they will likely struggle to score goals throughout the campaign.
Coventry and Ipswich should be more competitive, with the former managed by Chelsea legend Frank Lampard. Sunderland defied expectations last term to achieve European qualification in their comeback season, and while they may not reach the same heights, it is unlikely that they will get dragged into the scrap at the bottom of the standings.
Fulham are one of the more interesting selections, as they come into the new season under Alvaro Arbeloa following Marco Silva’s departure. The influential Harry Wilson has departed the club, while big money will likely need to be invested in the final third after Raul Jimenez left for Wolves.
At a bigger price, there is also expected to be a drop off by Brentford this term. The Bees were excellent throughout last term under Keith Andrews, but their game plan is unlikely to be radically changed, meaning that many teams will know what to expect. Crystal Palace could also struggle under new boss Pierre Sage.
