A big day of celebrations in the United States on July 4 includes action from the round of 16 stage of the FIFA World Cup, as Canada bid to continue their participation in the competition by overcoming Morocco.
Both nations will be dreaming of a deep run in the tournament, but Morocco will be heavily favored to build on their progressive showings so far this summer.

Canada have already made history this summer after winning their first-ever match in the knockout stage of a World Cup.
However, a minor disappointment would be the fact that they finished second in Group B, meaning that they have become the first host nation to ever play matches during the tournament outside of their own country.
Canada produced their best display of the World Cup in the round of 32, holding their nerve to eventually score late against South Africa to record a 1-0 win. The victory also saw Canada keep their second clean sheet in three fixtures at the World Cup.

Morocco’s experience in major tournaments should be respected this summer. The nation reached the semi-finals at the 2022 World Cup, and also won AFCON earlier this year.
Morocco are unbeaten in their four fixtures this summer, playing out a credible draw against Brazil before beating Scotland and Haiti. Their character was on full display earlier this week, scoring late in second-half injury time to force extra time against the Netherlands.
The African nation then kept their nerve from the spot to cause a minor shock and eliminate the in-form Dutch.
Morocco have performed to a very high standard at the World Cup this summer, and that is a level that Canada will struggle to match. Therefore, the reigning AFCON champions look like the logical play to book their spot in the last eight of the World Cup on Saturday.
