It has been a damning period for Austin FC since returning to action following the World Cup, having lost back-to-back encounters against the Houston Dynamo and Colorado Rapids without scoring.
Those results mean that Austin have now lost five of their previous six, and their only win in their previous seven was achieved at Q2 Stadium against the Seattle Sounders on July 22.

Club Tijuana will bring confidence into their Leagues Cup opener this week, as they sit second in the Liga MX standings following back-to-back wins against Leon and Tigres UANL.
Defensively, the Mexican club have been strong so far this season, keeping clean sheets in two of their fixtures. Meanwhile, they have shown attacking strength with four goals scored in their back-to-back victories.
Morad Daoudi El Ghezouani is the team’s most important player in the final third, having scored a team-high two goals in 2026.
Austin’s poor run of form since the start of June is alarming, while the fact that they have failed to score in their last two is difficult to ignore. Therefore, the in-form Club Tijuana look like the logical angle to follow when making Leagues Cup picks.
