Event Preview

The action during the NASCAR In-Season Challenge continues this weekend, as the second race of the series is set for Illinois, as the Eero 400 is staged. It will be a historic event, as the race marks a first return to Chicagoland Speedway since 2019.

The field will compete across 400.5 miles, which is made up of 267 laps. Alex Bowman won the most recent edition of the race, while Tony Stewart holds the record for the most race victories with three.

A return to a more traditional oval circuit will suit the chances of many of the top contenders in the betting. Denny Hamlin looks to be a standout chance to bounce back after finishing 26th in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 last weekend. Hamlin has won three of the last five races.

Tyler Reddick has failed to maintain his red-hot form in recent weeks, winning each of the opening three races of the season, but he has failed to place inside the top 20 in three of the last four rounds.

Ty Gibbs looks like one of the most consistent drivers on the grid at this stage. Gibbs has finished in the top 15 in six of the last seven races. Christopher Bell and Chase Briscoe also should be respected after returning to form with top-five finishes last time out.

Eero 400 Picks

Plenty of drivers will feel as though they have a good chance this weekend. However, Chase Elliott could be primed for a good Sunday. Elliott has already won on the Cup Series schedule this season, and he has finished in the top 20 in each of the last three rounds.
