Maryland Sprint Stakes Odds & Pick

The first graded race on the card this weekend at Pimlico comes in the form of the Maryland Sprint Stakes, which is run over six furlongs on the dirt. A trappy field of seven will go to post, but Prince Of Jericho could have leading claims for Brittany Russell.

He was third in this race last year, and he comes here fresh after finishing an excellent third in the General George Stakes. A low draw aids his chances on Saturday.

Gallorette Stakes Odds & Pick

Graded stakes action is also set for the turf at Pimlico on Saturday, beginning with the G3 Gallorette Stakes. Fillies aged three and older will compete over 1 1/16 miles, and the improving Three Havanas could hold leading claims for the Christophe Clement yard.

Joel Rosario is booked to take the ride on the European-bred horse. He holds excellent claims based on his efforts in European graded races last season, which includes a win in the G3 Holstein Cup. A bit of rain will enhance his chances, but plenty in his favor.

Dinner Party Stakes Odds & Pick

The final race before the Preakness Stakes comes in the form of the G3 Dinner Party Stakes, which is run over 1 1/8 miles on the turf. Plenty of runners have leading chances this weekend, including Cash Equity for Saffie Joseph Jr.

However, the narrow preference is for the yard’s other runner, Abrumar. The four-year-old was third in the James W. Murphy on this card last year, and he returned to action in March with a fine third in the Appleton Stakes. He may not be a graded horse, but few in this field are either.
