Event Preview

PGA Tour action is set for North Carolina this weekend, as the Sedgefield Country Club hosts the Wyndham Championship. A high-quality field will compete across 7,127 yards at the par-70 course, with a purse of $8.5 million being up for grabs.

Cameron Young will be a red-hot contender back at the course where he broke his PGA Tour maiden 12 months ago. Young was excellent at Sedgefield last year, setting a tournament record score. The American has been in reliable recent form, winning twice on the Tour in 2026 and recently finishing T8 at the Rocket Classic.

Tom Kim’s form should also be respected this week. The Scottish Open winner has posted three top-20 finishes in his last six starts, which includes an eye-catching T20 at the 3M Open. Has previous success at the Wyndham Championship after winning the event in 2022.

Ben Griffin is yet to reach the heights of last season, but he has made the cut in three of his four starts at the Wyndham Championship, which includes a fourth-place finish. Hideki Matsuyama also looks like a player that has played his way into form, finishing in the top 10 in back-to-back starts.

Wyndham Championship Picks

Aaron Rai could be an overlooked contender this weekend. The reigning PGA Champion won this event back in 2024, and he finished T5 in his defense 12 months ago. Has been consistent in recent outings, finishing in the top 20 on two occasions.
