After more than 13 months, Liverpool lost the Premiership.

Sarr Knockouts the Reds

Four days ago, Ismaila Sarr celebrated his 22nd birthday. Today he stopped arguably the best team ever in the Premiership, on their way to immortality. Watford defeated Liverpool 3-0, and the young Senegalese scored twice, setting up the third goal, completely destroying the rivals’ defense.

No doubt, after today’s clash, his price will hit the ceiling, as he already caught the attention of several big European clubs. Sarr struck twice in the span of six minutes, stunning the Reds and boosting the morale of the home team who was fighting bravely today.

The first goal came in the 54th minute, when he reached the ball first in the goalkeeper area and managed to place it past Alisson. After the stopwatch hit the one hour mark, Troy Deeney found Sarr, who was faster than both Lovren and Van Dijk, and ice-cold when executing.

Alisson once again didn’t stand a chance against the youngster from Senegal.

The atmosphere at Vicarage Road was more than cheerful. Watford was going up with this win, and moving away from the red zone. Liverpool, on the other hand, was looking pale, without any idea on how to improve the situation on the field in their favor.

Klopp was giving the instructions near the sideline, but it appears that his players didn’t hear him very well. After all this, Alexander-Arnold made one cardinal mistake, when wanted to pass the ball back to Alisson, but instead handed it to Sarr who then assisted Deeney for the final result. This sealed all the hopes of Liverpool’s both fans and the players to finish the season without a loss and back up the claim that they are the best generation in Premiership history.

Also, this snapped their streak of 18 consecutive wins, and Klopp’s side is now tied with Man City in that category.

Liverpool Confident in the Standings

With 22 points more than the Citizens, who have a game in hand due to the EFL finals, the reigning European champions are in an excellent position. They need four wins out of the upcoming 10 matches to secure the title. The way they play since the start of the campaign, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Liverpool has 26 wins and a draw and loss each. Up next, they meet Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup at the Stamford Bridge, which will be a massive challenge for the Reds. Not only because of the fact that it is a derby, but because Chelsea has nothing to lose. The boys from Anfield will soon face Atletico in the Champions League rematch, after losing 1-0 in Madrid.

On the other side, Watford is currently 17th with 27 points, same as Bournemouth, who is below the line for the relegation. West Ham also has 27 and is one place ahead of the Hornets.

They have to meet Crystal Palace in the EPL, on the road too, next Saturday, and after that have a clash against Leicester at home on March 14.
