UFC 250 is closing, and tomorrow night we will have an interesting event at the APEX facility in Las Vegas. The main fight of the night is the title match between Amanda Nunes and Felicia Spencer, which will be for the featherweight title. Apart from that, the bout between Raphael Assuncao and Cody Garbrandt as well as the one between Aljamain Sterling and Cory Sandhagen also draws some attention.

Nunes Confident, Spencer not Intimidated

The reigning champion of the bantamweight and featherweight title, stated yesterday that she isn’t distracted with all the critics and doubts fired to her address.

There are certain voices who are trying to diminish her achievements, claiming that her opponents weren’t the top class of the MMA world and that she didn’t deserve to win some fights. However, Nunes stated that she does not care about all those things.

“I beat all the good girls, the champions, the former champions. Cyborg, everybody was terrified of her. She would beat everybody. Thirteen years without losing. Ronda Rousey. Holly Holm. All of the big names. Miesha Tate. Valentina Shevchenko,” she said.

The Lioness added that even though she established herself as one of the best ever female fighters, the hunger for winning is still present, concluding that she isn’t done yet when talking about the UFC challenges.

On the other side, Felicia Spencer is regarded as one of the few possible rivals who might be able to dethrone Nunes. The 29-year old, who was the former INVICTA champion, lost against Chris Cybor, but after that fight, many recognized a talent who could easily become the UFC champion.

The Canadian is aware that Nunes might be one of the best ever, but still sees her as a human being. It is why she feels optimistic. Also, according to her words, Spencer is suggesting that her skillset will be something completely different for the champion.

This would be her fourth fight in the UFC, which many see as a big minus. But for some experts, this could be a great advantage. Spencer is still not scouted very well, and her progress since coming to the organization is massive. Some MMA pundits are comparing her current situation with Justin Gaethje’s.

Garbrandt Aims to get the Bantamweight Title Back

The 28-year old from Ohio, stated that he isn’t going down to the featherweight division following his fight with Raphael Assunção. Furthermore, Garbrandt added that he wants his bantamweight title back.

After beating Dominick Cruz, in 2016, he lost the title against TJ Dillashaw, and lost once again to the same guy in a rematch. His latest match was against Pedro Munoz, and he lost that one also. Against Assuncao, who has two straight defeats, and is one of the best in this division, that isn’t going to be easy at all.

The Brazilian lost the last bout to Sandhagen, who is also participating in this event and is facing Aljamain Sterling, who defeated Munoz in his most recent clash. As you see the bantamweight division is pretty interesting.
