The mere fact that Lombardi Trophy is at stake makes Super Bowl the biggest game of the year. Each NFL Championship Game is a real spectacle in its own right, but sometimes, teams just don’t score too many points. Some say it’s the defense that wins the Lombardi, but will this turn out true for Super Bowl LVII?

Before Betting on Super Bowl 57 Total Points Over/Under

The highest-scoring Super Bowl game in history remains the 1995 duel between the San Diego Chargers and the San Francisco 49ers, which saw the two teams produce a total of 75 points. The 2017 Championship Game saw the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots combine for 74 points. All the other Super Bowls had under 70 points total.

What is the average score for a Super Bowl? The answer is 46.1 points per game, which is pretty much the same number as in non-Championship games. In fact, the average number of points per game has been between 43 and 49 over the last couple of seasons.

In the regular season of 2022, the two highest-scoring teams were the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, each with 28.7.

Both Kansas City and Philadelphia got to the Super Bowl 57 thanks to their brilliant offensive game. The Chiefs’ signal-thrower Patrick Mahomes is having the season of his life, and the Eagles’ QB Jalen Hurts isn’t far behind. The two also have plenty of excellent teammates to throw the ball to.

Knowing all this, it’s only logical to assume that Sunday’s game is going to be a real spectacle with plenty of points on both ends. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if each of the Super Bowl rivals scored 30+ points. That said, betting on “total points: over 51” is our suggestion.
