Golden State is second in the Western Conference. The Utah Jazz are -5 over the Golden State Warriors in NBA action on Tuesday.

Warriors Looking to Pick it Back Up

The Golden State Warriors are still missing their star and former MVP Steph Curry. Curry hopes to jump back in the lineup in the postseason. Golden State, despite missing Curry is still the top scoring team in the league with nearly 114 points per game. Defensively, the Warriors are allowing 107.3 points per game, which is 17th.

Kevin Durant has taken over as the top scorer for the Warriors. Durant is scoring more than 26 points per game. Golden State cleared spot for Quinn Cook to be on the playoff roster by waving Omri Casspi. Golden State will finish with 50+ wins for the fifth straight season, but their streak of 60+ was stopped at three this season.

Jazz Playing Red Hot Basketball

The Utah Jazz have won five straight games, and scored 100 points or more in each of those games. The Jazz defense has remained on fire, allowing 100 points or less in 4 out of the 5 wins. Utah is 2nd in the NBA with 100.1 points per game allowed. Offensively, Coach Snyder’s team is scoring just over 104 points per game.

Donovan Mitchell is the top scorer for Utah with 20.5 points per game. Derrick Favors is making nearly 57% of his shots, and Ricky Rubio is dishing out 5.3 assists per game. Utah won 51 games a season ago, and this is their second straight season finishing above .500. The Jazz are also just a game behind Portland in the Northwest Divisional standings.

Jazz Beat Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are still a bit beat up right now. Golden State is having a tough time getting healthy. The Warriors are trying to get 100% healthy by the time they get to the postseason. But, in this game – they do not have a ton to play for. Golden State can lose the game, and will still be the 2 seed, and host in the first and second round.

Utah could use the win, as they are just a game behind Portland for the third seed, and a game ahead of a trio of teams for 5-7. Utah really could use this win. The Jazz will play a little harder in this game, and win the game.
