Grizzlies vs Warriors Preview

The contest between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors is, in fact, a direct clash for the eighth position in the Western Conference and a meeting with the LA Lakers in the first round of the play-in tournament. These teams are leveled with 38 wins and 33 losses at the moment, and are both in excellent shape when looking at the recent performances. It seems that they saved the best for the last, which is why the majority of the fans can’t wait to see them colliding with one another on Sunday night.

Morant Receiving Help From Teammates

Even though the latest Rookie of the Year winner leads this team and is their primary offensive option, in recent times, the Grizzlies decided to change that and diversify their already wealthy attacking potential.

The franchise from Tennessee won five games in a row, and during that span, they had for different top scorers. Dillon Brooks was the only one who managed to have a team-high on two occasions during that span.

Justise Winslow was the man against the Sacramento Kings in the Grizzlies’ last match played this Friday. He would score 25 points and have 13 boards, leading Memphis to a narrow and a very valuable triumph against the conference rivals, 107-106. We need to add that neither Brooks, Clarke, Anderson, Morant, Jackson, nor Valanciunas appeared and that the hosts won practically with its second unit.

Brilliant Curry

The finish of this shorthanded season saw Steph Curry exploding and reaching his MVP level of play. Right out of nowhere, the two-time MVP would shit into a higher gear and start pouring the baskets, becoming the league’s top scorer with 31.8 points per night.

His Warriors are also much better now than at the start of the year. Sure, this is mostly because of Steph, but we can’t neglect the impact of other guys on the floor as well.

For instance, GSW defeated the New Orleans Pelicans in the most recent match without their leader, 125-122, with Jordan Poole and Mychal Mulder taking over instead of Curry. Poole had 38 points and Mulder 28, but these two guys hit 11 threes in 22 attempts. Can they become the cheaper version of the original “Splash Brothers”? Probably not, but then again, who knows.

Grizzlies vs Warriors Head to Head

Midway through March, these two sides played back-to-back games in Memphis. The Warriors won the first one, 116-103. Hosts would get their revenge in the second, 111-103.

Grizzlies vs Warriors Prediction and Pick

This will be an interesting matchup because we highly believe that both teams would like to be the ones that face the slow and injury-shredded Lakers already in the first round. Our pick here would be to bet on the Warriors due to their experience in these types of matches. After all, they have several players with championship rings, which means a lot when you play under pressure.
