  • Monday Night Football is reserved for the AFC East matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots.
  • This is the biggest challenge for the Pats so far.
  • Meanwhile, the Bills slowed down a bit in the past few weeks and lost the top spot in the division.

AFC East was supposed to be conquered by the Bills without too much trouble. Or at least that is what the majority of the analysts and the fans expected. Until Mac Jones and the Pats evolved.

This is by far the biggest challenge for Bill Belichick’s unit, which currently has six straight wins.

Pats’ Stunning Defense

New England’s defense allows 15.8 points per game, the lowest in the league, and apart from the stats in practically all the other defensive aspects of the game have been superb. The only thing that Bill Belichick didn’t solve is stopping the running game of the guests, as NE allows 115.8 yards per game and is among the worst in the NFL.

The Pats have six straight wins, the last one against the Titans at home, 36-13. Jones was 22-for-32 and had 310 yards through the air with two touchdown tosses. Jakobi Meyers caught 98 receiving yards, while Kendrick Bourne had 61, with two TD receptions.

New England’s performance against the top-seeded (but injured) team in the AFC was a sort of a statement, which suggests that Belichick has a new team ready to attack the conference, and maybe even the Super Bowl title.

Inconsistent Bills

Josh Allen and his unit posted subsequent wins and losses in the past five games, losing to the Jaguars on the road and the Colts at home but eventually erasing those slips vs. Saints in New Orleans. Buffalo won, 31-6, freezing Taysom Hill and forcing the Saints’ new QB to commit four turnovers.

Following a massive loss at home, 41-15 vs. Colts, the fans were skeptical before the game in Lousiana. Nobody knew what might happen with Hill as the new starter, but eventually, it turned out that the Bills performed superbly on the defensive side.

Allen threw 260 yards, four TDs, and was intercepted twice. Stefon Diggs and Matt Breida had a TD reception each, while Dawson Knox posted two.

Head to Head Games

This is a division rivalry, and the Pats lead in the all-time series, 76-45-1. The difference was made during the Brady era, of course. Buffalo won both games last year, for the first time since 1993.

NFL Prediction and Pick

The Pats are superb right now, and there isn’t a hotter team in the league. Their only problem is the running game, but that is Buffalo’s weakest part of the offense. Therefore, we would propose betting on under here, as Bills also have a solid defense, which is one of the best in the conference. The line for the total number of points is 41.
