The #3 seed Indiana Hoosiers (21-10) are fresh off the double bye and ready to get their 2023 Big Ten Tournament underway when they meet up with the #6 seed Maryland Terrapins on Friday night. The Terrapins had probably the best way to get their postseason underway, getting the jitters out but cruising to a 70-54 win over last place Minnesota on Thursday night to even cover the -14 point spread.

Before Betting on Maryland vs Indiana

Maryland lost three of five games to close out the regular season – all on the road – but they looked good at the neutral sight United Center in Chicago, IL on Thursday with the 16-point win over the Golden Gophers. Minnesota is also really bad though, so we will see what the Terrapins (who were 11-9 in Big 10 play) are all about vs. Indiana.

The player to watch for the Hoosiers is Trayce Jackson-Davis who led the team with 20.5 ppg this season. Jackson-Davis was a unanimous 1st team All Big-Ten selection who closed out the season with 26/13 against Iowa and 27/9 vs Michigan so he is dialed in. Indiana also has the conference freshman of the year in Jalen Hood-Schifino who averaged 13.4 ppg.

These two teams only met once during the regular season, a 66-55 Terrapins win in College Park on January 31st as -3 point home favorites. Jackson-Davis had 18 points and 20 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to overcome 20 from Maryland’s Jahmir Young and 19 from Donta Scott.

Maryland vs Indiana Prediction & Pick

Is an upset on the menu on Friday night because Indiana giving only -2 points seems on the low side. This could be a trap considering the Hoosiers are well rested and have arguably the best player in the conference in Jackson-Davis. This is a great spot for a contrarian play, but the Hoosiers at -2 looks to be the way to go.

Pick: Indiana -2
