The big game in the Premier League takes place on Monday, as Manchester United look to put their early season woes behind them against Liverpool. The Reds visit Old Trafford looking for a first win of the campaign, but they will be heavily favored against a poor United side.

Before Betting On Manchester United vs Liverpool

Manchester United against Liverpool is typically the biggest game on the Premier League schedule, and there will be added spice for this fixture on Monday given the predicament that the Red Devils find themselves in. United are bottom of the league standings for the first time since 1992, and Erik ten Hag has endured the worst start for a United manager in over 100 years.

If the Dutchman wasn’t aware of the size of the job before the start of the season, he certainly is now. United have lost both of their opening league games and have conceded six times. The only goal that they scored was an own goal against Brighton, while last weekend’s 4-0 hammering at the hands of Brentford was a new low for the club in the Premier League era.

In truth, Liverpool’s start to the season has only marginally been better, as they are yet to pick up a victory and they already find themselves trailing Manchester City by four points. While the season is young, that could be an important difference when it comes to the title race, as neither side drop points on a regular basis.

Liverpool’s recent 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace was another setback for the Reds, as they looked shaky at the back and vulnerable to the counter-attack. Defensive issues have also been evident, as the Reds are missing key players through injury. However, given the strength of their forward line, you’d hazard a guess that they will get more than enough chances against a weak United defensive line.
