Mauro Icardi might end up in Juventus at the end of the next transfer window.

Old Lady’s Interesting Plan

In the last few days, COVID-19 has been the primary topic of all sports fans. Due to delays of almost all sorts of competitions across the world, Coronavirus earned the label of sport’s most hated enemy.

However, one big new went under the radar, and it includes Mauro Icardi, the fantastic Argentinian striker. Currently, Icardi is in Paris, playing for the French champions PSG.

He is on a one-year loan from Inter Milan, with a clause that allows the Saints to automatically buy him for €70 million. But according to several reliable sources, it seems that the third party wants to interfere and get its hand on one of the most prolific goalscorers in the world.

Juventus is reportedly after Icardi, after not being able to land the Argentinian during the previous transfer windows. The Old Lady would like to use PSG’s clause in their favor. The situation is complicated but will be easy to explain in the next few lines.

Icardi isn’t willing to stay in Paris, as he feels overshadowed by Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and the rest of the fantastic forwards Tomas Tuchel has at his disposal. In the meantime, he doesn’t want to go back to Inter, where he spent almost the entire previous season trying to get away, no matter the cost.

On the other side, Inter, too, isn’t keen on getting the problematic player back, because Antonio Conte finally created a positive atmosphere in the locker room. Icardi’s comeback would definitely ruin that having in mind his complicated relationship with the fans and the teammates.

This is where Juventus jumps in. The Old Lady knows that if they have to negotiate with Inter directly the price for this player would be sensational. Nerazzurri aren’t ready to give one of the best strikers on the continent to the biggest rivals in the domestic championship for less than a nine-figure proposal. Meanwhile, the deal with PSG could significantly lower that sum.

The Saints would buy Icardi for €70 million and resell him to Juve for €85 million almost immediately. This is a moderate win-win situation for all four sides included in this story.

Napoli in the Race Also

The Italian media suggests that Napoli might be tempted to go after the 27-year old. Some two days ago, the club from the south of the country contacted Icardi’s agent and wife, Wanda Nara. Nothing further than this had been revealed, but it is easy to guess that Parthenopeans want to boost their attack.

Icard has a solid season so far in PSG. He played 31 games in all competitions and netted 20 times. In the French Ligue One, Icardi has 20 appearances and 12 goals, with three assists. Meanwhile, he is even more lethal in the Champions League with five hits in six events.

All in all, even though he isn’t satisfied with the current role, the Argentinian performs at a high level. For sure, Juve and Napoli won’t be the only two teams trying to get their hands on this fantastic striker.
