The situation in Barcelona is not good at all, as one of the key players, Ivan Rakitic expressed his unhappiness recently.

Rakitic Denies a Move to Paris

The Croatian playmaker, who was one of the essential pieces in Barcelona’s machinery over the last six years, was supposed to be a part of the transfer, which would bring Neymar at Camp Nou. However, Rakitic denied such a possibility, firing some pretty harsh words on his clubs’ account.

“I understand the situation, but I’m not a sack of potatoes that you can just do anything with,” Rakitic told Mundo Deportivo recently.

Such a statement is pretty straightforward, with the player not even trying to be polite or hide his frustrations. It seems that Barca’s intentions really hurt the veteran midfielder, who couldn’t keep his calm.

He would add that he doesn’t want to be a part of a transfer and go to the club where he might not even play. Also, Rakitic did mention that his status at Camp Nou changed in the last two years and that he felt “uncomfortable.”

The Croat has a contract until 2021, and is 32-years old, meaning that Barca probably doesn’t count seriously on him anymore. The Spanish titan already brought the replacement, a young Dutchman, Frenkie De Jong. It is apparently why they want to use Rakitic as an asset in the transfer and spare some cash in return.

During the previous summer, Inter Milan was working hard on getting the creative player, but for some reason, that didn’t happen. Allegedly the playmaker was also interested in moving to Milan, where he has several teammates from the national team. Also, Croatia is very close to Milan, which would make lhim, even more, closer to home.

Problems in Barca

This wasn’t the only incident between players and the management. During March, Lionel Messi raised his voice against clubs’ pressure on the players. According to the icon of the fans, Barcelona‘s board was releasing all sorts of stories to the media, in order to force the players to accept pay cuts during the La Liga hiatus.

Some sources even suggested that Messi might leave at the end of the season because he isn’t in good relationship with the management. The second reason for his unhappiness is the club’s transfer policy. Several players were brought despite the locker room’s defiance, while on the other side, none of their wishes had been granted.

This especially goes for Antoine Griezmann, who isn’t very popular among the teammates after his comments about Blaugrana during his stint in Atletico Madrid. Meanwhile, Neymar was the wish of the entire team, particularly following some of his actions, which hinted that the Brazilian would like to come back.

Barcelona is currently first in La Liga, but they aren’t convincing as they were in the past. The situation is not as it used to be, and we might see significant changes during the upcoming summer transfer window.
