The offshore sportsbooks are expecting Indiana (13-6) to push their win streak to four games as they are double digit favorites on the road Wednesday night in the Twin Cities. That line makes sense, as the Minnesota Golden Gophers (7-11) are just 1-7 in Big Ten play this season and have one of the worst offenses in the country.

Before Betting on Indiana vs Minnesota

Everybody knew the Hoosiers had to be better than the team that started off 1-4 in conference play, and they’ve proven it with consecutive wins over Wisconsin (63-45), Illinois (80-65), and Michigan State (82-69). Even two of Indiana’s B10 losses were close, 91-89 at Iowa and 84-83 vs Northwestern so this is a team that could easily be looking at a 6-2, 2nd place record in conference play.

The past is the past, and now Indiana is moving forward behind the stellar play of Trayce Jackson-Davis, who has gone for 30+ in back to back games. Jackson-Davis is averaging 19.4 points and 10.1 ppg as he starts staking his claim to not only Big 10 Player of the Year, but maybe National as well.

It was going to be hard for Minnesota to contend in this game regardless of who they had in the lineup but possibly losing leading scorer Dawson Garcia (14.3) to an ankle injury isn’t ideal. That puts a lot of pressure on Jamison Battle (12.1 ppg) against an improving Indiana defense.

Indiana vs Minnesota Prediction & Pick

The Golden Gophers can play a team close, just look at their 60-56 loss at Michigan on Saturday as +12.5 underdogs or the 70-67 win at Ohio State earlier this month. Minnesota can also get blown out though, losing by 22 to Purdue and 18 to Illinois in their last two home games. That seems to be the type of game we’re going to get on Wednesday night.
