There is midweek stakes action to look forward to at Saratoga on Wednesday night, as the G2 Honorable Miss Handicap is the fourth race due off at the track. This race will be run by fillies and mares aged four and older over a distance of six furlongs. A small, but select field of four have been declared to compete.
Before Betting On Honorable Miss Handicap
This looks to be a very interesting renewal of the Honorable Miss Handicap at Saratoga this weekend. The betting for the race will be headed by Bella Sofia, for trainer Rudy Rodriquez. The four-year-old has been in excellent form already this year, and has won the G3 Vagrancy Handicap and G2 Bed o’ Roses Stakes. Both victories have recorded speed figures of at least 109, while both wins have also come at Saratoga.
The only race that she finished outside the top three came last November, as she finished fourth in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint. However, previous experience at the track could be essential, and her win in the G1 Test here last here could be the standout piece of form.
According to the odds, Frank’s Rockette could be the biggest danger this weekend. She returns after finishing behind Bella Sofia in the G3 Vagrancy Handicap back in May. Before that run, she finished second in the Carousel Stakes. However, the lack of wins in stakes company would be a very big concern, as she has only won the Saylorville Stakes in her previous nine outings.
Kimari, for Wesley Ward, is hard to rule out too. She landed an allowance optional claimer in March, before finishing third in the G1 Madison and fifth in the G1 Derby City Distaff. This is her preferred distance, and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Strange things can often happen in small fields, but it’s extremely challenging to see past Bella Sofia at -100 in the Grade 2. Those interested in a forecast, may be keen on a 2-4 selection, which would see Kimari taking second ahead of Frank’s Rockette.
