The Miami Heat have to go to Boston to beat the Celtics in Game 5 in order to reach the NBA Finals.

Before betting on the Heat vs. Celtics Game 5

Miami Heat wasted a matchpoint at home, losing 116-99 at the Miami-Dade Arena. Following a solid opening half, we saw the Heat slowing down in the second two periods, once Miami scored only 43 points.

Only eight threes in 32 attempts are the main reason for their loss. We’ve gotten used to seeing them delivering high three-point shooting percentages, but that wasn’t the case on Tuesday night. Jimmy Butler scored 29 points with nine boards, Gabe Vincent added 17, Caleb Martin 16, and Bam Adebayo reached only 10.

Unlike their rivals, the Celtics dropped 18 threes in 40 tries, literally setting the rim on fire in some sequences. Jayson Tatum led the way with 33 points, 11 boards and seven assists. For the first time in the series, the Celtics’ defense was superb.

Al Horford and Grant Williams put the wall around the paint, shutting down Miami in that area. The results were immediately noticeable. Horford had 12 buckets, Grant Williams 14, but more importantly, their defense was impeccable.
