Three Lions After Three Points

The game against Croatia wasn’t that charming for watching, but still, England got away from it with three points which is the only important thing here. Gareth Southgate was under heavy pressure to fulfill the expectations of the public, and in some way, he managed to do so.

But overall, we didn’t see anything which qualifies the Three Lions for the title. The midfield was slow and dull, the attack was a bit sluggish, and the only part of the team that worked correctly was the defense.

Though, this was the seventh win in a row for the English side, with just one during that span seeing them conceding. It was against Poland in the World cup qualifiers, 2-1 at Wembley. Also, the last three were all 1-0, against Austria, Russia, and now Croatia.

Scotland Disappoints

That is the least we can say about the performances of the scots in their opening event. We didn’t saw anything from them. Apart from useless running, Scotland was inferior in almost all the key areas. On top of everything, this team suffered a morale-killer goal from half the field

Still, the team will reset for this match because they meet England, and that is, in fact, a much bigger motive for winning than three points. As said, there is a long history between these two sides, and for the Scots, beating England is a matter of national pride.

This unit plays inefficient matches, with only three in the past 10 seeing over 2.5 goals. Six of them were with both teams not to score

England vs. Scotland Head to Head

These two sides met in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. England was better in London 3-0, while the match in Glasgow saw a draw, 2-2. Their previous four events all saw over 3.5 goals.

England vs. Scotland Prediction and Pick

There are two options for this match and we are breaking down both of them here.

The first one is England to win. There are numerous reasons for that. The biggest one is the fact that this team is simply better than the Scottish one. We saw that the Scots couldn’t handle the Czech Republic at home, let alone would they compete with England at Wembley.

The second is under 2.5 goals. Both teams play low-scoring affairs; just look at their recent results. It will be the same on Friday.

Pick: England Wins or Under 2.5 goals
