Just two nations remain in the Women’s EURO 2022, and it will be either England or Germany that are crowned European champions at Wembley on Sunday. Both sides have enjoyed excellent runs through to the final, but will the Lionesses end their wait for major glory at the home of soccer this weekend?

Before Betting On England vs Germany

This year’s final will be a rematch from the 2009 EUROs. On That occasion, Germany ran out very comfortable winners with a 6-2 victory in Finland. However, this is a completely different England side nowadays, and they look more than capable of making the final step, and becoming immortalised forever.

The Lionesses have been excellent throughout the competition. England hasn’t broken a sweat to this point, as they eased through the group stage with three wins from three, scoring 14 goals in the process. Their statement 8-0 win against one of the pre-tournament favorites, Norway, remains a standout win in the tournament. Bigger challenges have come in the knockout round, but a tense 2-1 win after extra time against Spain was followed with a comfortable night in Sheffield, as England reached a first major final at the EUROs with a 4-0 success against the top-ranked side in the competition, Sweden.

While England are looking for a first European honor, Germany will be looking for a record-extending ninth victory. Their dominant six tournament winning streak was ended four years ago, as the Netherlands won their home tournament in excellent fashion. However, the Germans look back to their very best this summer.

After making it through as group winners in a tricky looking group that also included Spain, the Germans easily got past Austria in the quarterfinals with a 2-0 success. They clashed with France in the semi-finals in Milton Keynes, with Alexandra Popp being the hero, as she scored twice in the 2-1 win.
