The Giants proved on Sunday that’s it’s not impossible to get a road win on wild card weekend after their 31-24 victory in Minnesota. Now the Dallas Cowboys (12-5) will try to join their NFC East combatants New York and Philadelphia in the Divisional Round as they head to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-9) in a special Monday night playoff tilt. Tampa Bay is a +2.5 home underdog joining Jacksonville as the only other home ‘dog of the wild card round.

Before Betting on Cowboys vs Bucs

Somebody had to win the absolutely dreadful NFC South, and Tampa Bay was able to get one more win than Carolina, New Orleans, and Atlanta as the only sub .500 team in the playoffs. That mundane season doesn’t give a lot of optimism for the Bucs to make a deep playoff run, but then again it’s never been wise to count out Tom Brady in the postseason.

Brady was his usual great self this season leading Tampa Bay to the #2 passing attack in the NFL but Dallas can bring some heat led by Micah Parsons and his 13.5 sacks. The problem with Tampa Bay is that they are very one-dimensional on offense, ranking last in the run game at just 76.9 ypg.

Tampa Bay posted a top 10 total yard and passing defense this season, but the Cowboys do have more balance on offense with a 1,300+ yard receiver in CeeDee Lamb as well as a RB duo in Tony Pollard and Zeke Elliott that have combined for 1,800+ yards on the ground.

Cowboys vs Bucs Prediction & Pick

Dallas had their second straight 12 win season but last year they were knocked out 23-17 at home against San Francisco in the wild card round. All the money seems like it will be on Dallas here, as Tampa Bay was just 8-9 on the season but it’s hard to go against Brady at home – or on Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy anywhere.
Pick: Jaguars -6.5
