Chelsea Looking To Continue Excellent Run

It will be a difficult ask for Spurs this weekend, as they will be coming up against a Chelsea side that have been in excellent form over recent weeks. The Blues have turned a corner over recent months as they have been able to improve their defensive record. That upturn also ensures that the club could now be placed to challenge for the league title, as there have never been any doubts about their ability to score goals. Chelsea have won their last three in the league, with the most recent of their wins coming against Newcastle United last time out.

Tammy Abraham rewarded the faith that his manager has put in him in that win, as he scored the second goal late in the game. The Englishman will likely be given another chance to shine in this fixture alongside Timo Werner. One man that hasn’t been happy with his role at the club is Oliver Giroud, as his agent has recently come out and questioned whether it is time for the Frenchman to move on. However, he played a crucial role for the Blues in their last game, as he scored a late winner to ensure that Chelsea beat Rennes 2-1 in the Champions League.

Spurs Possible Title Contenders

Many Tottenham fans sensed that Jose Mourinho’s arrival would mean that the club would be able to compete for leading honours in England, but not many could have foreseen Spurs challenging for the league title this season. They entered the debate last weekend with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Manchester City. It was a typical Jose Mourinho managerial masterclass against Pep Guardiola on that evening, as Spurs defended deep before hitting City on the counter-attack.

There was excellent togetherness shown by Spurs, and they never looking like surrendering their lead. Heung Min-Son continued his excellent start to the season by scoring early in the game, before Giovani Lo Celso made sure of the points in the final stages. Another win this weekend for Spurs will make sure that they are given the respect that they deserve going forward. However, Tottenham’s record at Stamford Bridge will not give them hope, as they have won just once in 34 visits to south London, with their last victory coming in 2018.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction

This is a different Tottenham side from the ones that we have seen in the past, and a victory at Chelsea will give them the confidence to sustain their consistency. We expect a lively game between the two rivals, but a draw seems the most likely outcome.
