The Sun Devils (22-11) picked up a buzzer beating 89-88 win over Arizona (26-6) on February 25th for their first victory in Tucson since 2010.

Could Arizona State catch Arizona looking ahead to a trilogy with UCLA for the Pac-12 Championship? ASU has beaten Oregon State 63-57 and USC 77-72 to get to the conference semifinals but will fatigue set in as the Sun Devils play their third game in as many days – all three of which have been relatively close.
ASU does have one of the more talented players in the conference on their side, as Desmond Cambridge, Jr. is coming off 27 points and 7 rebounds against USC. It was Cambridge who hit the beyond half court buzzer beater to top Arizona at the end of February but the Sun Devils also had five players average in double figures this season.
Cambridge, Jr. is great for ASU, but Arizona landed two players on the PAC-12 First Team in Oumar Ballo (13.9 ppg) and Azuolis Tubelis (19.9). Both of those players were great in the tournament opener as Ballo had 24 points, Tubelis 20, and Cedric Henderson, Jr. added 23.
