NBA Battle: Boston Celtics at Phoenix Suns

NBA Battle: Boston Celtics at Phoenix Suns

In the National Basketball Association – the Boston Celtics are on the road at the Phoenix Suns on Monday night. The Boston Celtics are the second seed out of the Eastern Conference. Boston is 50-23 and 3.5 games behind the Raptors. Boston comes into the game with a 26-10 record on the road. The Celtics have won three straight games.

On the other side – the Phoenix Suns are the worst team in the NBA. The Suns come into the game with a 19-55 record on the season. The Suns have dropped 11 straight games, and are 40.5 games behind the top seeded Houston Rockets. Phoenix comes into the game as a huge underdog. The Boston Celtics are -9.5 over the Phoenix Suns on Monday.

Suns Terrible on Defense

The Phoenix Suns are not only losing games, but getting blown out in most of those games. The Suns have come within single digits in just 3 out of their 11 losses in a row. The Suns are allowing opponents to score 113.9 points per game, which is the worst in all of the National Basketball Association. Offensively, Phoenix is 21st in the league with 104 points per game.

The Suns top scorer this season has been Devin Booker, with 24.9 points per game. Both Booker and T.J. Warren are out in this game for the Suns. Phoenix won 24 games a season ago, so they would have to finish 5-3 to reach their win total from last season.

Celtics Rolling to Postseason

The Boston Celtics are rolling to the postseason. The biggest concern for Boston is their point guard Kyrie Irving, who may not make it back until the postseason. The Celtics have won back to back games on the road without him. Boston saw Jalen Brown return to action in the win over the Kings by scoring 19 points.

What the Celtics are missing with their point guard out is Kyrie Irving and his 24.4 points per game and 5.1 assists per game. The Celtics point guard leads the team making nearly 50% of his shots. The Celtics rank as the third best defensive team in all of the league, allowing 100.4 points per game. A season ago, Boston was 53-29, so a 3-6 finish would match that.

Boston Wins Big

The Boston Celtics are going to win this game big. The Celtics could use the wins to seal their #2 spot, or maybe put some pressure on the Raptors. The Phoenix Suns have pretty much mailed it in for the season. Many would be surprised if the Suns won another game this season. Look for Boston to win this game, and win it big on Monday. Bet on the Boston Celtics -9.5 over the Phoenix Suns in a National Basketball Association game on Monday.

  1. The Suns are the best team vs. centers in the last 5 games, only giving up 27 points average a game. Yet they’re are the hands down worst vs PF’s giving up 83 point average a game in the last 5. I more than understand Gordon, but just because it’s the Suns doesn’t make Vucevic the top center of the night. No thanks.
