In a state of Indiana battle – the Butler Bulldogs will take on the Purdue Boilermakers on Sunday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. This game will be played in Detroit, with the winner taking on either Texas Tech or Florida in the Sweet 16. The Butler Bulldogs are the 10th seed in the East Region, and came away with a win over Arkansas in the opening round of the tournament. Butler is 21-13 on the season.

The Purdue Boilermakers are seeking their 30th wn of the season. The Boilermakers finished second in the Big Ten standings, and came away with a blowout win over Cal State Fullerton in the opening round. The Boilermakers come into the game as the favorite.  The Purdue Boilermakers are -3.5 over the Butler Bulldogs on Sunday.

The Purdue Boilermakers are the top seeded Big Ten team in the tournament. The Boilermakers went to the Big Ten title game, only to fall to Michigan. The Boilermakers started the regular season with 4 straight losses, before losing back to back games to Tennessee and West Virginia. The Boilermakers spot wins over Arizona and Louisville, as well as Butler.

The Bulldogs are scoring nearly 80 points per game, and allowing opponents 72.5 per game .The top scorer this season for the Bulldogs has been Kelan Martin. The forward is playing more than 35 minutes per game, and scoring 21 per game. The Bulldogs are looking for their 25th NCAA Tournament win.

Upset in the Making

The Purdue Boilermakers and Butler Bulldogs are state rivals, and have already played this season. The Boilermakers are probably a more talented basketball team than Butler, but with an injury that changes things. Look for Butler to take advantage of no Haas in the middle of the paint.
